The regions of Germany

Germany is located in the center of continental Europe and borders in the south on the Alps and in the north on the Baltic and the North Sea. To the east and west, it lacks natural borders, which has allowed foreign influences and an intense cultural exchange with the neighboring countries that have left a mark on the country’s history and Germanic civilization.

The Federal Republic of Germany borders on nine countries: Denmark to the north, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg and France to the west, Switzerland and Austria to the south and the Czech Republic and Poland to the east.

Stretching from the Alps to the Baltic and the North Sea, Germany offers a large variety of landscapes: mountains, forests, hills, plains, lakes, rivers and coast are all a part of this large country.
