6 DAYS FROM FRANKFURT TO MUNICH
A different Religious TourTRAVELOGUE Day 1 Frankfurt - Würzburg - Rothenburg - Nuremberg Departure for the ancient bishop city Würzburg. During a guided tour through the historical cellar vaults of the “Juliusspital” you will taste the typical dry wine of the region. Then visit of the Episcopal Residence. Along the way we visit Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Romantic Germany. Our last destination for today is Nuremberg. Day 2 Nuremberg - Bamberg - Nuremberg After breakfast we stroll into this modern city which still preserves a medieval city center. In the afternoon we will continue to Bamberg which features 2300 historic buildings that range from Romanesque to Baroque. This day will end in the famous Historical Brewery Tavern Schlenkerla. Don’t miss the Rauchbier, a sort of smoked beer you really have to try. Return to Nuremberg. Day 3 Nuremberg - Regensburg Few other towns in central Europe can offer perspectives of more than 2000 years of history whichever way you look. Regensburg has over 1500 listed buildings. You will visit the most important buildings during a walking city tour with your guide. This afternoon is at your leisure. Day 4 Regensburg - Kelheim - Passau On sundays you have the opportunity to enjoy the holy mass at 10 a.m. accompanied by the well-known “Regensburger Domspatzen”. Afterwards our journey takes us to Kelheim. Enjoy a river cruise passing one of the most scenic landscapes the river Donau fl ows through. After disembarking at the monastery of Weltenburg we will have a guided tour including beer tasting in the world’s oldest Abbey Brewery. Today’s fi nal destination is Passau. Day 5 Passau - Marktl - Altötting - Munich In the morning we start with a visit of this beautiful town. On our way to Altötting we will have a stop in Marktl to visit the birthplace of Pope Benedict XVI. In the afternoon, you will continue to Altötting which is the most important place for the St. Mary pilgrimage. According to Pope Benedict XVI, this place is the “heart of Bavaria and one of the hearts of Europe”. This day ends in Munich. Day 6 Munich - Andechs - Munich After breakfast we will explore Munich and its main monuments. Next we continue to the monastery of Andechs, a Benedictine order with a history reaching back to the 14th century and also famous for its traditional beer brewery. Round off the eventful day having lunch in the monastery tavern where the smooth beer is tapped directly from wooden barrels before we return to Munich. Transfer to the airport or to a hotel.
