TRAVELOGUE

Day 1 / Saturday
Zurich
Upon arrival in Zurich transfer to your hotel. Accommodation at the Hotel Swissôtel Zürich****.

Day 2 / Sunday
Zurich
In the morning you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Zurich and its main monuments. Take in the fabulous views of the Alps and Lake Zurich from the Höhenstrasse. We will stop briefly in Rapperswil, the quaint city of roses. Return to Zurich. Enjoy a lovely cruise on Lake Zurich (no guide). Arrival at Zürich-Bürkliplatz. Make your own way back to the hotel. Accommodation at the Hotel Swissôtel Zürich****.

Day 3 / Monday
Zurich - Luzern - Mount Titlis - Interlaken
Departure for Luzern. Short sightseeing tour and free time to explore on your own. At noon we travel to Engelberg. Take the Rotair cable car to the top of Mount Titlis and the glacier. From an elevation of 3.020 m (9800 ft), visitors enjoy spectacular views of the Central Alps. In the afternoon you visit the lakeside town of Brienz and its unique woodcarving artisans. Continue to Interlaken, at the foot of Mount Jungfrau. Accommodation at the Hotel Royal St. Georges****.

Day 4 / Tuesday
Interlaken - Bern - Gruyeres - Geneva
We drive along the shore of Lake Thun to Bern, located on the Aare River with fabulous views of the Alps. Brief sightseeing tour and then continue to Gruyeres, a picturesque town with an impressive medieval castle. Accommodation at the Hotel Ramada Encore***+.

Day 5 / Wednesday
Geneva - Montreux - Zermatt
In the morning sightseeing tour of Geneva and visit the town’s lovely lakeside parks and the European UN headquarters. Then you travel to Lausanne and Montreux, passing the magnificent Chillon castle. Free time to explore Montreux. In the afternoon you visit the Rodano river valley as far as Täsch. From here you continue by narrow gauge train to Zermatt, nestled at the foot of mighty Mount Matterhorn. Dinner and accommodation at Hotel Alex****.

Day 6 / Thursday
Zermatt - Nufenen Pass - Zurich
In the morning you are free to explore at your leisure or undertake an optional excursion to the top of Mount Gornegrat (not included). In the afternoon you return to Täsch where you board the bus for a spectacular drive over the high Nufenen mountain pass to Airolo. Return to Zurich. Arrival in Zurich at train station or Swissôtel at 6.30 p.m.

During holidays, conferences and special events, accomodation may only be available outside the city. Excursions and tours are usually not affected by these events.
