Discover Germany in combination with a visit to the most fascinating cities of northwest Europe. Travel back in time with a visit to beautiful historic towns and fairytale castles in Germany. Brussels, the capital of Belgium and headquarters of the European Union and NATO, boasts an impressive historic center with medieval streets. Amsterdam is one of the most fascinating cities in the world, packed with historic monuments and beautiful canals.
TRAVELOGUE
 
Day 1 / Sunday 
Frankfurt
 
Arrival at Frankfurt airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore at your leisure. Frankfurt is the financial and commercial heart of Germany. 
 
Day 2 / Monday 
Frankfurt - Heidelberg - Freiburg
 
In the morning you travel to Heidelberg to visit the famous castle and enjoy a sightseeing tour of its historic city center. Heidelberg is Germany’s oldest university town and one of the most popular destinations in the country. Our next destination is Freiburg. 
 
Day 3 / Tuesday 
Freiburg - Lake Titi - Lindau - Füssen
 
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of lovely Freiburg, famous for its beautiful church tower. Next you travel to Lake Titi, in the heart of the legendary Black Forest. We continue to the small island of Lindau in Lake Constance, which boasts spectacular views of the Alps. Our final destination today is Füssen, the southernmost point on our tour of Romantic Germany. 
 
Day 4 / Wednesday 
Neuschwanstein - Wieskirche - Oberammergau - Ettal Abbey - Garmisch Partenkirchen
 
Visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Ludwig II, the notorious „mad king“. In the afternoon we travel to Oberammergau, famous for ist Passion Play and lovely crafts. Along the way we visit the Wieskirche church before continuing the tour to the Ettal Benedictine Abbey. Today‘s final destination is Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany’s winter sports capital and site of the 1936 winter Olympics. This mountainous region also features Germany’s highest peak, Zugspitze (2.962 m/9715 ft). 
 
Day 5 / Thursday 
Garmisch Partenkirchen - Linderhof - Munich
 
The morning is free to explore at your leisure. An optional excursion is to ascend to the top of Zugspitze (not included). In the afternoon you travel to Munich and visit Linderhof castle, one of 3 castles built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. 
 
Day 6 / Friday 
Munich
 
After breakfast we visit the gardens of the Nymphenburg summer palace. Next we explore the city and its main monuments, including Marienplatz square with its famous clock tower, the Frauenkirche church and the elegant Maximilianstrasse boulevard. The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure. Save your appetite for this evening‘s traditional Bavarian dinner with folk music. 
 
Day 7 / Saturday 
Munich - Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Frankfurt
 
After breakfast we travel to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Romantic Germany. Sightseeing tour of this lovely medieval town. Next we travel to Frankfurt. 
 
Day 8 / Sunday 
Frankfurt - Rhine Valley - Cologne
 
In the morning we depart for Cologne. Our itinerary takes us along the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine valley with magical scenery and medieval castles. Upon arrival in Cologne we enjoy a tour of the metropolis on the Rhine. The spires of the gothic cathedral (a UNESCO World Heritage site) dominate the skyline of this old German city. 
 
Day 9 / Monday 
Cologne - Aachen - Brussels
 
In the morning we set out for Brussels. Along the way we stop in Aachen, home of kings and emperors in the Middle Ages. Upon arrival in Brussels you enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city’s lovely medieval streets, museums, shops and cafes. 
 
Day 10 / Tuesday 
Brussels - Ghent - Bruges
 
In the morning we travel to Ghent and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city. Then we continue to Bruges, also known as „Venice of the North” because of its many canals. Once a powerful and prosperous merchant city, Bruges still preserves an impressive legacy of medieval monuments and buildings. 
 
Day 11 / Wednesday 
Bruges - Antwerp - Amsterdam
 
After breakfast, we travel to Amsterdam. On the way we stop briefly in Antwerp, Europe‘s diamond capital. Arrival in Amsterdam and city tour. The capital of Holland is one of the most fascinating cities in the world and boasts a wealth of historic monuments, museums and beautiful canals. Don‘t miss the opportunity to visit the Van Gogh Museum. 
 
Day 12 / Thursday 
Amsterdam - Frankfurt
 
Transfer to Amsterdam airport or to Frankfurt. 
 
During holidays, conferences and special events, accomodation may only be available outside the city. Excursions and tours are usually not affected by these events.
