It looks like a fairytale town. TRAVELOGUE Day 1: Frankfurt Arrival in Frankfurt and transfer to your hotel. Day 2: Frankfurt -Rüdesheim/cruise/St. Goar – Cologne (120 km/75 mi) In the morning you travel to Rüdesheim for a sightseeing tour of this small town. Short tour of the famous Drosselgasse street before boarding your boat. This river cruise takes you along the most picturesque stretch of the Rhine, through the Loreley valley. After you disembark in St. Goar you continue the tour to Cologne. The spires of the gothic cathedral (UNESCO World heritage monument) dominate the skyline of one of the oldest cities in Germany. Overnight stay. Day 3: Cologne – Hamburg (422 km/262 mi) Alter breakfast you leave for Hamburg. Upon arrival sightseeing tour of the city. Hamburg oozes a cool elegance with its historic warehouses and avenues, numerous music festivals and lavish shopping arcades. St. Pauli neighborhood is also worth visiting. Especially noteworthy are the historic buildings and the brick structures. Overnight stay. Day 4: Hamburg - Berlin (289 km/180 mi) In the morning awaits you a very special trip on the high speed train between Hamburg and Berlin. Upon arrival in Berlin you enjoy a city tour. Visit the historic "Unter den Linden” avenue, the university, the opera building and the Brandenburg Gate, as well as the modern part of the city, represented by the Reichstag and Potsdam square. Berlin was a divided city for more than 40 years and a symbol of a divided world. During this long period of isolation, the Federal Republic of Germany and the former Democratic Republic of Germany each made their part of the city a showcase of excellence of their respective political systems. This competition has made the current capital of a reunited Germany into a modern metropolis and a city with a dynamic and vibrant economic and cultural life. Overnight stay. Day 5: Berlin - Potsdam - Berlin (76 km/47 mi) After breakfast you travel to Potsdam for a half-day tour. Potsdam is set in a privileged natural location on the Havel Rriver and surrounded by many waterways and lakes. Upon arrival you visit the park and Sanssouci palace. The park, which occupies an area of 300 hectares/740 acres, is home to hundreds of species of plants. The afternoon is free to explore Berlin at your leisure. Overnight stay. Day 6: Berlin – Dresden (191 km/118 mi) In the morning you travel from Berlin to Dresden. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city. Dresden is one of the main tourist centers in Germany, because of its geographic location on the banks of the Elbe River and the gateway to Swiss Saxony park, as well as for its incredible architectonic and artistic heritage. A combination of history and modern development give this city a special charm. Overnight stay. Day 7: Dresden – Nuremberg (310 km/181 mi) Today you travel to Nuremberg, where you explore the city on a sightseeing tour. Before the Second World War, Nuremberg was one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Germany. This historic city of bronze casters and goldsmiths is today, with its neighbor Fürth, one of the main industrial centers in Germany. The city is an interesting mix of a modern city with half a million residents and a medieval center. The gothic churches, the romantic houses and pleasant squares are delightful. Overnight stay. Day 8: Nuremberg - Munich (166 km/103 mi) Alter breakfast you leave for Munich. In Munich you begin your tour by visiting the Palace of the Nymphs. Then you continue to the center of the city for a sightseeing tour of the main monuments and attractions. Munich, the capital of Bavaria and famous for its beer festival (Octoberfest) celebrated at the end of September, lies near the Alps. One of the most interesting sights is the Frauenkirche. Tthe spires of this gothic cathedral can be seen from miles away, making the Frauenkirche Munich’s most recognizable attraction. Also make sure you visit the Marienplatz square with its clock tower. This square has been the geographic and social center of Munich since the city was founded. Overnight stay. Day 9: Munich - Oberammergau - Linderhof – Füssen (138 km/86 mi) In the morning you travel to Overammergau, a picturesque village, famous for its passion play. In the afternoon, on your way to Füssen, you visit the Linderhof castle. This is one of the three castles built by king Ludwig II of Bavaria, who also had the famous Neuschwanstein castle built. This is the only castle where the king, known as the Mad King, lived during a significant amount of time. Overnight stay. Day 10: Neuschwanstein – Lindau – Stuttgart (313 km/195 mi) In the morning you visit Neuschwanstein castle, also built by Ludwig II, known as the Mad King. The Bavarian king had this castle built between 1869 en 1886 in a neo-romantic style to resemble the medieval castles of the German knights. The result was this fairy-tale like castle. Continue your tour to Lindau. This is a small island in Lake Constance where you can see the Seated Lion, the symbol of Bavaria. In the afternoon you travel to Stuttgart. Overnight stay. Day 11: Stuttgart - Heidelberg – Frankfurt (220 km/136 mi) Alter breakfast you leave for Heidelberg to visit the famous castle. Then you have time for a sightseeing tour of the city. There is a reason why Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest university town, is one of the most visited places in the country. With its romantic atmosphere it seems to have stepped out of a fairytale. The city is set between forests and vineyards, boasts a vibrant student community, picturesque alleys, romantic views, culture and impressive monuments. Then we complete our tour at the airport of Frankfurt where you board your return flight.
