17 DAYS – FROM VIENNA TO FRANKFURT
Imperial Central EuropeTRAVELOGUE Day 1: Vienna Arrival at Vienna airport and transfer to your hotel. Accommodation in Vienna. Day 2: Vienna After breakfast you enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the famous “Ringstrasse“ and its impressive monuments such as the Opera, the Museum of Fine Arts and Natural History, the Maria Theresa Monument, the Parliament, the Town hall, National Theatre and Hofburg Palace. Other sights include the gardens of the baroque Belvedere palace, built by Prince Eugene of Savoy. The afternoon is free to spend at your leisure. Accommodation in Vienna. Day 3: Vienna Today you are free to explore the town at your leisure. Accommodation in Vienna. Day 4: Vienna - Budapest (250 km/155 mi) In the morning you travel to Hungary, arriving in Budapest around noon. In the afternoon you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Budapest, the pearl on the Danube. Highlights of the city tour include Castle Hill, Fishermen’s Bastion and the Mathias Church. Accommodation in Budapest. Day 5: Budapest Today we make an excursion to the picturesque town of San Andrés. Accommodation in Budapest. Day 6: Budapest - Bratislava - Prague (550 km/341 mi) In the morning we set out for Prague. On the way we stop in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia where we explore the historic center of the city. Then we continue to Prague. Accommodation in Prague. Day 7: Prague After breakfast you enjoy a sightseeing tour of the most important city monuments. Accommodation in Prague. Day 8: Prague Today you are free to explore at your leisure. Optional excursion to Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), the famous spa resort. Accommodation in Prague. Day 9: Prague - Frankfurt (550 km/341 mi) Today we continue our tour to the city of Frankfurt, passing through the cities of Nürnberg and Würzburg. Accommodation in Frankfurt. Day 10: Frankfurt After breakfast you enjoy a sightseeing city tour. The afternoon is free to spend at your leisure. Accommodation in Frankfurt. Day 11: Frankfurt Free day. Accommodation in Frankfurt. Day 12: Frankfurt - Heidelberg - Freiburg (290 km/180 mi) In the morning you travel to Heidelberg to visit the famous castle, followed by a sightseeing tour of the city. Heidelberg is Germany’s oldest university town and one of the most visited destinations in the country. Our next destination is Freiburg. Accommodation in Freiburg. Day 13: Freiburg - Lake Titi - Lindau - Füssen (280 km/175 mi) After breakfast you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Freiburg and the surrounding region. Next we travel to Lake Titi in the Black Forest. After a short stop, we continue to the small island of Lindau in Lake Constance. Today‘s final destination is Füssen. Accommodation in Füssen. Day 14: Neuschwanstein - Oberammergau - Ettal Abbey - Garmisch Partenkirchen (70 km/44 mi) In the morning we visit Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Bavarian King Ludwig II, also known as the “mad king”. In the afternoon you travel to Oberammergau, a picturesque town famous for its Passion play. Next you continue to Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany’s winter sports capital. Germany‘s highest mountain peak, Zugspitze (2.962 m/9700 ft) towers over the village below. Accommodation in Garmisch. Day 15: Garmisch Partenkirchen - Linderhof - Munich (130 km/80 mi) In the morning you are free to relax or explore the city on your own. As an optional excursion (not included) you can ascend to the top of Zugspitze. In the afternoon you travel to Munich and visit Linderhof castle on the way. Accommodation in Munich. Day 16: Munich After breakfast you visit the lovely gardens of the Nymphenburg summer palace, followed by a sightseeing tour of Munich and its main monuments. In the afternoon you are free to explore the city at your leisure. Save your appetite for this evening‘s “Bavarian Night” at the famous “Hofbräuhaus” restaurant, a celebration with folk music and a traditional Bavarian dinner buffet. Accommodation in Munich. Day 17: Munich - Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Frankfurt (440 km/273 mi) This morning you travel to Rothenburg ob der Tauber for a sightseeing tour of one of Germany’s most romantic towns. Next we travel to Frankfurt. The tour program ends at Frankfurt airport. During holidays, conferences and special events, accomodation may only be available outside the city. Excursions and tours are usually not affected by these events.
