Along the AlpsTRAVELOGUE Day 1 / Tuesday Munich - Füssen Arrival in Munich and private transfer to the train station. Our driver will hand over all travel documents to you and help you with the train. Depending on your time of arrival you can either spend some hours in Munich before taking the train to Füssen (2 hours) or you can just get the next one and discover beautiful Füssen until the rest of the group arrives at around 7:30 p.m.. Accomoda tion at the Luitpoldpark Hotel****. Day 2 / Wednesday Neuschwanstein - Wieskirche - Oberammergau - Ettal Abbey - Garmisch-Partenkirchen The day starts with a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle. In the afternoon we travel to Oberammergau, famous for its Passion Play. Along the way we visit the Wieskirche church and the Ettal Benedictine Abbey. Today‘s final destination is Garmisch-Partenkirchen. This mountainous region features Germany’s highest peak, Zugspitze (9715 ft). Accommodation at the Treff Hotel Alpina****. Day 3 / Thursday Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Innsbruck - Linderhof - Munich Today you either join an excursion to Innsbruck, Austria, or you stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to ascend to the top of Zugspitze (ticket for cable car not included). In the afternoon we travel to Munich and visit Linderhof castle. Accommodation at the Hotel Holiday Inn Munich City Centre****. Day 4 / Friday Munich After breakfast we visit the city‘s main attractions, concluding the tour at the Marienplatz square with its famous clock tower. The capital of Bavaria state, Munich, is famous for its Oktoberfest, which is actually celebrated in September. The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure. In the evening you enjoy a traditional Bavarian dinner with folk music. Accommodation at the Hotel Holiday Inn Munich City Centre****. Day 5 / Saturday Munich - Salzburg - Munich After breakfast the rest of the group will leave towards Frankfurt. You’ll make a regular daytrip through the Chiemgau, enjoying a beautiful view on the Lower Bavarian Alps. In Salzburg, the city of Mozart, we will have enough time for shopping and a walk through the picturesque old city. The tour continues to the lake Wolfgangsee where you can take a boat ride to the old pilgrim church and the famous hotel Weisses Rössl (not included). On the way back to Munich we will pass by a lake called Mondsee which became famous with the musical “Sound of Music”. You will arrive in Munich around 7:30 p.m.. Accomodation at the Hotel Holiday Inn Munich City Centre****. Day 6 / Sunay Munich Free time until your private transfer will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the airport. During holidays, conferences and special events, accomodation may only be available outside the city. Excursions and tours are usually not affected by these events.
