TRAVELOGUE
 
Day 1 / Sunday 
Frankfurt
 
Arrival at Frankfurt airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to spend at your leisure. We recommend to do an optional boat excursion on the Rhine from Rüdesheim to St. Goar (regular and private services available). Frankfurt is the financial and commercial heart of Germany, a city full of fascinating contrasts between modern development and historic landmarks. At 7 pm you will meet your guide at the welcome-dinner at the hotel. Accommodation at the Hotel Mövenpick Frankfurt City****. 
 
Day 2 / Monday 
Frankfurt - Heidelberg - Freiburg
 
In the morning we travel from Frankfurt to Heidelberg. Visit the famous castle ascending with the cable car and enjoy a sightseeing tour of ist historic city center. Idyllically located on the shores of the Neckar River, Heidelberg is Germany’s oldest university town and one of the most popular destinations in the country. If weather conditions allow it, we will take the scenic Schwarzwald Hochstrasse to Freudenstadt. Our next stop is Freiburg. Accommodation at the Park Hotel Post****. 
 
Day 3 / Tuesday 
Freiburg - Lake Titi - Lindau - Füssen
 
After breakfast we enjoy a sightseeing tour of lovely Freiburg, famous for its beautiful church 
tower. Next we travel to Lake Titi, nestled in the legendary Black Forest. We will have the full “Black Forest experience”: Make your own Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte and savor it afterwards with a cup 
of coffee and gaze at a short presentation on the cuckoo clock production. We continue the tour to 
the small island of Lindau in Lake Constance, which boasts spectacular views of the Alps. Depending on 
weather conditions we will take the Alpine road from Lindau to Oberstaufen and Immenstadt to our final 
destination Füssen, the southernmost point on our tour of Romantic Germany. Accommodation at the Hotel Hirsch****. 
 
Day 4 / Wednesday 
Neuschwanstein - Wieskirche - Oberammergau - Ettal Abbey - Garmisch-Partenkirchen
 
We begin the day with a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Ludwig II, the notorious “Mad King“. In the afternoon we travel to Oberammergau, famous for its Passion Play and lovely crafts. Along the way we visit the Wieskirche Church before continuing the tour to the Ettal Benedictine Abbey. Taste the delicious cheese on a visit to the local cheese factory. Today‘s final destination is Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany’s winter sports capital and site of the 1936 winter Olympics. This mountainous region also features Germany’s highest peak, Zugspitze (2.962 m). Accommodation at the Rheinischer Hof****. 
 
Day 5 / Thursday 
Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Innsbruck - Linderhof - Munich
 
In the morning we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Innsbruck, Austria, located in the Inn valley, in the heart of the Alps. As an alternative excursion you may also ascend to the top of Zugspitze (instead of Innsbruck, not included). In the afternoon we travel to Munich and visit Linderhof Castle. This is one of the 3 castles built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one where the king actually lived for a significant amount of time. Accommodation at the Hotel Excelsior****+. 
 
Day 6 / Friday 
Munich
 
After breakfast we visit the city‘s main attractions, concluding the tour at the Marienplatz square with its famous clock tower. The capital of Bavaria state, Munich, is famous for its Oktoberfest, which is annually celebrated in September. The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure. In the evening you enjoy a traditional Bavarian dinner. Accommodation at the Hotel Excelsior****+. 
 
Day 7 / Saturday 
Munich - Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Frankfurt
 
After breakfast we travel to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Romantic Germany. Sightseeing tour of this lovely medieval town concluding with a Schneeballen (snow ball) tasting, a pastry considered the signature dish of Rothenburg. Next we travel to Frankfurt. Accommodation at the Hotel Mövenpick Frankfurt City****. 
 
Day 8 / Sunday 
Frankfurt - Rhine Valley - Cologne
 
In the morning we travel to Cologne. Our itinerary takes us along the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine valley with magical scenery and medieval castles. Upon arrival in Cologne we enjoy a tour of the metropolis on the Rhine. The spires of the gothic cathedral (a UNESCO World Heritage site) dominate the skyline of this old German city filled with numerous art treasures, lovely museums and a rich cultural agenda. Accommodation at the Hotel Maritim****. 
 
Day 9 / Monday 
Cologne - Aachen - Brussels
 
In the morning we depart for Brussels. Along the way we stop in Aachen, home of kings and emperors in the Middle Ages. Upon arrival in Brussels you enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city’s lovely medieval streets, museums, shops and cafés. Accommodation at the Hotel NH Atlanta Brussels****. 
 
Day 10 / Tuesday 
Brussels - Ghent - Bruges
 
Our first destination is Ghent, where we enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city. Then we continue to Bruges, also known as ” Venice of the North” because of its many canals. Once a powerful and prosperous merchant city, Bruges still preserves an impressive legacy of medieval monuments and buildings. Accommodation at the Hotel NH Brugge****. 
 
Day 11 / Wednesday 
Bruges - Antwerp - Amsterdam
 
After breakfast, we travel to Amsterdam. Along the way we stop briefly in Antwerp. Arrival in Amsterdam and city tour. The capital of the Netherlands is one of the most fascinating cities in the world and boasts a wealth of historic monuments, museums and beautiful canals. Don‘t miss the opportunity to visit the Van Gogh Museum. Accommodation at the Hotel NH Schiller****. 
 
Day 12 / Thursday 
Amsterdam - Frankfurt
 
Transfer from Amsterdam to Frankfurt Airport. 
 
During holidays, conferences and special events, accomodation may only be available outside the city. Excursions and tours are usually not affected by these events.
