10 DAYS – FROM MUNICH TO FRANKFURT

The Romantic Triangle

Idyllic towns, lush meadows and enchanted forests await visitors to Southern Germany. This tour takes you to Germany’s romantic south and then to some of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the neighboring countries. Visit Salzburg, framed by majestic mountains, and Innsbruck, the lovely capital of Tirol. The tour also includes Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city, and Strasbourg, just across the border in France.
TRAVELOGUE
 
Day 1: Munich 
Arrival in Munich and transfer to your hotel. Free time. 
 
Day 2: Munich 
Start the day with a sightseeing tour of the capital of Bavaria. Visit the city‘s main monuments, including the Frauenkirche Cathedral and Marienplatz square. 
 
Day 3: Munich – Salzburg 
Today you travel to Salzburg. Enjoy a tour of the home town of genius composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salzburg has a spectacular setting on the Salzach River, surrounded by mountains. 
 
Day 4: Salzburg – Innsbruck – Garmisch Partenkirchen 
Today you travel to Innsbruck. Visit the city’s most important attractions such as the Golden Roof House and the Imperial Palace. Then you continue to Garmisch Partenkirchen, the winter sports capital of Germany and site of the 1936 Winter Olympics. 
 
Day 5: Garmisch - Ettal - Oberammergau - Neuschwanstein - Füssen 
In the morning we visit the Ettal Benedictine Abbey. Then we continue to Oberammergau, a picturesque town famous for its Passion play. In the afternoon we visit Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Bavarian King Ludwig II. 
 
Day 6: Füssen – Lindau – Meersburg - Constance 
After breakfast we travel to the small island of Lindau, located in Lake Constance. We continue to Meersburg where we board a ferry to Constance. 
 
Day 7: Constance - Zurich – Constance 
Today we visit lovely Zurich. This city offers a perfect combination of beautiful churches, picturesque houses and fabulous views of Lake Zurich. In the afternoon we return to Constance. 
 
Day 8: Zurich – Rhine Falls – Titi Lake - Freiburg 
This morning you travel to Schaffhausen. This stretch of the Rhine features a spectacular natural attraction: Europe‘s largest waterfall. Next we travel to Lake Titi in the Black Forest. We enjoy a short visit and then continue to Freiburg. 
 
Day 9: Freiburg – Strasbourg 
From Freiburg we travel to the beautiful French city of Strasbourg that straddles the border with Germany. 
 
Day 10: Strasbourg – Heidelberg - Frankfurt 
This morning we travel to Heidelberg. City tour and a visit to its famous castle. 
 
During holidays, conferences and special events, accomodation may only be available outside the city. Excursions and tours are usually not affected by these events.

English-speaking tour guide during the entire tour (driver-guide for groups with less than 8 persons)
