Beer Festival - Oktoberfest

Munich’s famous Oktoberfest is one of the most popular events in the world! During Oktoberbest Munich becomes one big party, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors who come here to enjoy the traditional music and costumes, and of course drink beer from the enormous stone mugs.

TRAVELOGUE

Day 1: Munich
Arrival in Munich, the capital of Bavaria and one of the most important cities in Germany. The city is very proud of its traditions and the residents all dress the part during the 2-week event. Women wear the traditional dirndl dress and men don a pair of lederhousen (a shirt and short pants). Transfer from the airport to your hotel. Overnight stay in Munich.

Day 2: Munich
After breakfast you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Munich and visit the major tourist attractions, including the art museum, Odeon Square, Max Joseph Square and the Marienplatz with its bell tower. Afternoon transfer to the “Wiesn”, the site of the Oktoberfest celebrations. Enjoy the traditional games and rides on the fair ground and sample a variety of German beers. Return to your hotel at your own expense. Overnight stay in Munich.

Day 3: Munich
After breakfast, transfer to the airport.

The 2010 Oktoberfest will take place from September 18th through October 3rd.

The first Oktoberfest took place in October of 1810 to celebrate the wedding of the prince of Bavaria. The event was so successful that it was been held every year ever since. It was moved to September because of the bad weather conditions in October.
