10 DAYS – FROM MUNICH/FRANKFURT TO BERLIN/FRANKFURT
Travelling through HistoryTRAVELOGUE Day 1 (Frankfurt-) Munich Arrival in Frankfurt or Munich. If you arrive in Frankfurt, you´ll take a train to Munich (surcharge). Transfer to your hotel. Day 2 Munich Today you enjoy a city tour of Munich and visit famous landmarks, such as the Frauenkirche and the Marienplatz. In the afternoon you visit Dachau, the former concentration camp that has been preserved as a monument in memory of the Holocaust victims. Day 3 Munich - Nuremberg Travel to Nuremberg and sightseeing tour. Visitors still find a lot of evidence of the city’s 950 years of history, including the more recent legacy of the national-socialist era. Nuremberg was home to the former Nazi congress which today houses a documentation center. Day 4 Nuremberg - Prague After breakfast we travel to Prague. Since the Middle Ages, Prague has been known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is also nicknamed “the Golden City“ or “the City of 100 Spires“. Day 5 Prague After breakfast you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Prague to visit ist most important monuments, including Wenceslau Square, the National Theatre and Castle District. On foot we explore the old city‘s famous square with its astronomical clock and the impressive Charles Bridge. In the afternoon we visit the Jewish quarter and Kafka Museum. Day 6 Prague - Dresden This morning we travel to Dresden. Located on the Elbe River and the gateway to Switzerland, Dresden is one of Germany‘s major tourist destinations, famous for its artistic and architectural heritage. Day 7 Dresden Today we visit the city’s historic monuments. One of the highlights is the Frauenkirche church, which was destroyed in February of 1945, during World War II and completely rebuilt in 2005 with donations from all across the world. Other attractions include the Zwinger Palace, the famous Semper Opera and the Elbe River. Day 8 Dresden - Potsdam - Berlin In the morning we leave for Berlin. Along the way we stop in Potsdam, a city with a privileged setting on the Havel River and its many waterways. Early afternoon arrival in Berlin. Free time to explore the city on your own. Day 9 Berlin Today you explore Berlin, a city filled with historic landmarks. At the famous border crossing “Checkpoint Charlie“, we visit the Museum of the Berlin Wall. The fall of the Wall on November 9, 1989 brought an end to the 28-year division of Germany. In the afternoon we visit the East Side Gallery, the largest remaining section of the Wall. In former East-Berlin, we visit the DDR Museum that displays a fascinating collection of artifacts about life in the former Democratic Republic of Germany. Day 10 Berlin (- Frankfurt) Free time. Transfer to the airport or the train station. If you leave from Frankfurt, you´ll take the train to Frankfurt airport (surcharge). If you would like to modifiy the program or include other cities we can adjust the itinerary according to your interests. During holidays, conferences and special events, accomodation may only be available outside the city.
