The Grand Fairytale Tour

Join us on a magical tour of Germany’s fairytale destinations. The route includes more than 70 cities and villages that were the setting of the Brothers Grimm’s fairytales, legends and myths.

TRAVELOGUE

Day 1 (Frankfurt-) Hamburg
Arrival in Hamburg or Frankfurt. If you arrive in Frankfurt, you´ll take a train to Hamburg (surcharge). Transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 Hamburg - Bremen: The Brementown Musicians
This morning we travel to Bremen where we visit the magnificent town hall, the statue of Roland, the cathedral and the historic fishermen‘s neighborhood. It was here that one of the most famous fairytales originated: the story of the Brementown Musicians. Every Sunday at noon the story is performed in front of the city hall.

Day 3 Bremen - Hannover: The Pied Piper of Hamelin
Today we pass through several lovely villages: Verden, famous for its horses, Nienburg and its lovely historic center, and Rinteln, the city of castles. In Hamelin we will relive the story of the famous piper.

Day 4 Hannover - Kassel: From Cinderella to Sleeping Beauty
Travel to Polle where we find the ruins of the castle that may have been home to Cinderella. We will also visit the original castle of Sleeping Beauty in Sababurg. Our final destination is Kassel, the city where the Brothers Grimm began to write their famous fairytales.

Day 5 Kassel: Puss-in-Boots and Snow White
Today we explore the area around Kassel, famous for its lovely small villages and gorgeous scenery where Puss-in-Boots and Snow White once lived.

Day 6 Kassel - Marburg: Little Red Riding Hood
Today we travel south. In Neukirchen you can visit the House of Fairytales. Schwalmstadt is the region where Little Red Riding Hood once lived. Our final destination today is Marburg, one of the best preserved medieval towns in Germany.

Day 7 Marburg - Frankfurt
In the morning we visit Steinau and the house where the Brothers Grimm were born. Then we travel to Frankfurt.

Day 8 Frankfurt
City Tour and transfer to the airport.

During holidays, conferences and special events, accomodation may only be available outside the city.
